Meet Mr. Calder Dorn. He is a senior at Sunset High School- and probably one of the greatest, coolest, funniest guys you’ll ever meet. I’m not just saying this because I had the privilege of doing one photo session with him… although just simply going off the photo shoot I could check off cool and funny (hilarious, actually!). The “great” part I can actually say because I have had the pleasure of coaching Calder and working with him. Calder swims for Sunset High School. He’s an awesome swimmer with a killer freestyle- that freestyle landed him a spot on the state team last year. (Did I mention the boys won state??!!) His strokes are one thing, but what makes him a phenomenal swimmer is his team spirit, leadership and enthusiasm. He is super nice to everyone on the team and very supportive. I also worked with Calder at Farber Swim School. Again, I have nothing but great things to say about him. He’s perfect with kids and a very hard worker.
On top of swimming and working Calder is very involved with his school. He plays on a coed soccer team and is part of Link Crew, they help welcome freshman. Calder has a 4.0 GPA and is involved with the science club… fitting for him because he wants to go to OSU for engineering and then on to Med School. See- I wasn’t lying about the “great” part.
Calder- I think you’re awesome, kid. This year will be bittersweet as I know we’ll have a great year (you’re going to get that 100 free cut) and it’s going to be a lot of fun. However that word “senior” only means one thing and I’m going to have to try real hard not to cry during the banquet. You are going to do amazing things- I just know it. I wish you the best of luck with your senior year and a lifetime of greatness and happiness. Enjoy the photos.
I guess I wouldn’t be a good photographer if I didn’t show someone’s true personality. Yes, Calder can be serious, he’s a great student and I’ve seen him put on a very serious-determined face when stepping up to the block. However- the guy has a wonderful, fun personality. He’s funny and goofy and up for anything. We practically had two different shoots- the “normal” photo session and then the “Crazy-Calder” session. I just had to share some of these photographs. I literally was laughing out loud while editing. (Calder- that doesn’t happen, like ever.) I hope you enjoy these out-takes as much as I enjoyed shooting and editing them.
