Hilda is one lucky girl. She is marring a super sweet and romantic man. John planned out how he would propose to Hilda while they were visiting Portland, Oregon. He wanted the proposal captured on film so that he could remember one of the greatest days of his life, the day Hilda said “Yes!” He called me up and asked if I would secretly photograph his proposal at Tanner Springs Park. I acted like I was taking photos of the park and when John was ready he gave me a sign. I turned my camera towards Hilda, she had her face buried in her hands while John prepared their dog, Tucker, with a red bow-tie and then he got down on one knee. I’m not sure what John said but I know tears were coming down Hilda’s face and it ended with a huge hug and a smile on her face. After the proposal we spent some time in Tanner Springs park, exercising Tucker in the nearby dog park and walking around the Pearl District. It was nice chatting with the couple, I learned that he was in financing, she was in school and that they met at church. They are both from the same town in Hong Kong and when they were little they actually lived very close to one-another but never met. The happy couple now resides in Vancouver, Canada. They love visiting Portland and I know now that PDX will have a special place in their hearts.
John and Hilda thank you for asking me to be a part of your special day. It was great to meet you both and I wish you the best of luck in all you do, blessings from above and marital bliss! Congratulations, I hope you enjoy the photos.
