I love it when things have great timing. (Being a photographer we actually live for perfect timing!) Kara and Jon asked me to be their photographer for their upcoming wedding in September. The upbeat couple happens to live in Chicago but has decided to tie the knot in Sisters, Oregon. (I don’t blame them, Sisters is beautiful!) The timing that I spoke of though was because they happened to hire a Midwestern, well a Midwestern at heart at least. I ventured home to Northern Indiana in July, prefect timing to do an engagement/family photo shoot with Kara, Jon and their precious one-year-old, James. We started off the photo shoot in Kara’s parent’s lovely home in Evanston, IL. There was a perfect photo of her ancestors in their wedding-day attire, of course I used the photo to tell the story of not only family but of their upcoming nuptials. After a few shots in the house we strolled down to a park along Lake Michigan. We spent a little time playing on the swing set before we called it a day. James called it a day before we got back to the house… he was zonked out on mom’s shoulder just zzzz’ing away.
Kara and Jon, it was nice to meet you and the rest of the family. I look forward to photographing your fabulous wedding at the Five Pines Lodge in September. Until then… try to stay out of the Midwest heat (don’t be jealous of our 78 degree weather) and enjoy your photos.
