I first met Jeanette when she asked me to donate a photo session to a silent auction/dinner event for Compassion First. As soon as I found out what this non-profit does I said YES! Sex Trafficking is a very real problem not only here in Portland but all over the world. And it breaks my heart. Yes, I wanted to donate a little bit of my time to Compassion First’s efforts but I also wanted to share it here on my blog with you. It’s not how I typically start off my blog posts for a family photo session but I do want everyone to be aware of this horrible, heart-wrenching issue and if you have either time or funds (or both) to donate to this cause you would be helping out so many girls and women that are trapped in this horrific life.
Please visit Compassion First’s website: http://www.compassionfirst.org/ to read more about Sex Trafficking and find out how you can help.
Jeanette not only found me for the auction… but she also won the photo session! So I was able to hear more about what she does with Compassion First and how she involves the whole family, including taking their kids to Indonesia every year to fight against sex trafficking and help out the women who are freed. Such an amazing family! We spent some time taking photos in the Hoyt Arboretum. For the most part, I concentrated on taking photos of Jock & Jeannette’s lovely children; Kaitlyn their eldest and their two twins, Connor and Madison. I snuck in a few photos of the entire family too. 😉 We had a great time running around, playing in the leaves and climbing trees.
Jeanette & Jock- you have a beautiful family. I enjoyed getting to know all of you. Thank you for all your work you do with Compassion First. I hope you enjoy the photos and have a wonderful holiday season.
