A lot of tiny-yet-hilarious moments happened on this photo session. The Manchio family are returning clients and this is my third photo shoot with this fun bunch. I know I’m a broken record, and I’ll say it again, I love it when I get to photograph a family every year. We get to know each other and I think everyone can relax and laugh. This time around Judy, Craig and their adorable two-year-old, Grant and I headed to the Hoyt Arboretum. We ventured down to the Redwood deck, it’s a beautiful area.
Grant was awesome! He was funny, cuddly and curious- what more could a photographer ask for? He enjoyed chasing bubbles and smelling flowers… but smelling flowers like a macho dude, not a dainty girl. You’ll know what I mean when you see the photo. Grant was also interested in ferns, especially smelling them. He forced his mom to take a sniff and I’m sure Judy will kill me for posting that photo- but, Judy, it’s funny! We laughed when Grant asked me to smell his fingers… he just wanted me to smell the “fern smell.” Ah, kids. They say the funniest things. Grant also likes standing on rocks and flexing his muscles…show off! It was a beautiful Spring evening with a lovely family and I really enjoyed the photo shoot.
Judy & Craig, always a pleasure. Your little man is amazing and I look forward to watching him grow up. I’m so glad I was asked to capture simple, yet very important, family memories for you. Enjoy the photos. (Oh- and I hope you had a wonderful anniversary!)
