I’ve had the pleasure of knowing the Stitt family for over five years now. The Stitts are talented, smart and kind- an all around fabulous family. The wonderful world of swimming introduced me to this family. Cameron and Nina both swam for Sunset High School where I am the assistant swim coach. Alan and Kathy are so proud of their children and all that they have accomplished. The humble parents don’t like to boast (Cameron and Nina won’t brag either)… so I’ll do it for them.
Cameron will start his junior year at the University of Michigan, where he is studying Chemical Engineering. Cameron earned University Honors and earned the U-M Athletic Academic Achievement. Cameron visits/volunteers at the Mott Children’s Hospital and is fluent in Spanish. At this point, I would go over all of Cameron’s swimming accomplishments, awards, and records. However, that would create a very long post. Let’s just say at seventeen he swam at the Olympic Trials… and he’s doing amazing things in the pool for the Wolverines. Cameron- you’re awesome! Best of luck in your third year at Michigan.
Miss Nina did her senior portraits with me last summer. Nina has a fantastic attitude, is super sweet and very speedy in the water. Nina was a Metro League All-Star Academic Award recipient, a Scholar Athlete and was involved in the National Honor Society while at Sunset High School. She was one of our team captains last year and was voted MVP. Nina will head to Colorado State University where she will join the Ram’s swim team and study biology. Just like her brother, Nina has too many swimming accolades to mention. I know she’ll be an excellent addition to CSU. Nina- go get em’ girl! I hope you enjoy your college years. Good luck!
Alan and Kathy- you must be so proud of your kids and you are always welcome to tell me how they are doing both in the water and out. Thank you for all your help through the years of high school swimming. Your family will truly be missed next season. I had a blast photographing all the hugs, laughs and jumps at Forest Park. I hope you enjoy the photos.
