Rain doesn’t stop awesome people. I planned my Oregon Coast photo weekend in mid-July hoping for beautiful sunny days. When I saw the forecast for the weekend I was greatly disappointed, at first. To get me out of my rainy weather slump, I thought about Veronika and our senior photo session. I knew Veronika would be okay with the wet weather, she’s a swimmer after all. And, since I’ve been her coach (Sunset High School) for the last few years, I knew she would have a great attitude and have fun with whatever came our way. I was right- and she rocked this session. Rain and clouds didn’t stop us and I absolutely love how the photos turned out.
A beach session was the perfect location for Veronika. She wants to study marine biology… “specifically, plant based. Like seaweed and reefs. Small organisms are also pretty cool too,” Veronika said. She is looking to study at Dalhousie in Nova Scotia or CAS in Hilo, Hawaii. She’ll make a wonderful marine biologist- she feels at home around bodies of water, plus she’s intelligent and has a can-do attitude.
It’s been a pleasure watching Veronika grow through the years. She’s fun to coach, always makes me laugh and works hard. I know she’ll do great things with her life.
Veronika- you rock. Thanks for being into all my ideas for this beach session and thanks for letting me throw sand in your hair. Ha! I’m looking forward to our last swim season together. It’s always bittersweet- I’m so happy to see you graduate and move on to bigger and better things, but you’ll certainly be missed on the pool deck. Best of luck to you girl. Enjoy the photos.
