Rachel and Patrick had a beautiful wedding on a very warm September Sunday. The bridal party primped and prepared at a lovely apartment across the street from the Eco Trust building while the groomsmen tied their ties with a whisky in hand. After the bridal party of close friends and family was dressed in their green and gray apparel the ceremony began. Even though the sun was hot the guests didn’t mind especially after they saw Rachel march out onto the balcony. Patrick’s eyes filled with tears at the first sight of his gorgeous bride. The ceremony was simple and sweet. Rachel and Patrick shared vows, rings a few laughs and happy tears and of course one big kiss. The couple was pronounced husband and wife, the whisky bar opened and the fun began. Rachel and Patrick are big connoisseurs of whisky and they wanted to share their favorite drink with their guests. The whisky bar allowed guests to taste their top selections. The reception was downstairs in the Eco Trust building, decorated in a natural style with wooden candle holders and fresh flowers. Dinner was gourmet and delicious. There were three toasts given. The first toast was a touching speech by Rachel’s father. The second was an exciting Hawaiian chant by Patrick’s family. The third was a combination of both Rachel and Patrick speaking to their guests and one another. Rachel shared an “introduction” and listed off who was in the room that night- doctors, lawyers, fire fighters, artists, veterans, authors, scientists, family and friends. It was unique and interesting to hear about all the different people in one room celebrating together. Patrick’s words to his new wife made everyone tear-up. I remember at the end he talked about how his wife is so caring and loving to others and he was so blessed that she chose to love him the most. After the toasts the pie was cut and the dance floor opened. The rest of the night was filled with dancing, laughter, love and pure celebration for the wonderful couple.
